selecta's moody corner

Nobody is really surprised anymore that the entire population of Israel is convinced that a war is coming up this summer. Questions like "when exactly" (it seems to me the summer has arrived) or "who will be the enemy" (we have quite a few possible candidates) provoke either furious anger at my ignorance or pitiful superiority over my obvious naivety.
As if that wasn't enough, our new/old (who the hell can keep track) minister of defense Ehud Barak found the best possible time to point his finger at yet another looming
danger to our society: draft dodgers.
I am out of words regarding these issues, maybe only this to conclude:


1. Don't beat yourselves up if there won't be a war this summer


2. If you are afraid to be called a "sucker" for being drafted to the army, I don't want you to be the one defending me


Again, it's not as bad as it is portrayed in our collectively hysterical society.
So read this article and chill the fuck out.
