Ingemar Johansson -vs- Floyd Patterson 1959
Johansson defeated Floyd Patterson to win the World Heavyweight Championship in 1959.
The fight was stopped in the third round after the Swede had knocked Patterson down seven times. He was the first European to defeat an American for the title since 1933.
He retired in 1963 with a record of 26 wins, 17 by KO, and only 2 losses.
Well done Swede. Well done. However if you still find you and your countrymen are holding on to a bout that happened 40 years ago, then my point is still well taken. USA RULES!
